Position: Junior Sous Chef
Location: 5-Star Game Lodge, Vaalwater
Salary: R10,000 – R12,000 per month
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join a team at a prestigious 5-star game lodge in Vaalwater. This role involves supporting the Head Chef in all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation, hygiene, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menu items.
Supervise and support kitchen staff in food preparation and presentation.
Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality standards and recipes are accurately followed.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and storage areas.
Help manage inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies.
Ensure efficient and timely service during meal times.
Communicate effectively within the kitchen and resolve any issues that arise.
Oversee the upkeep of buffet, banqueting, and other dining areas.
Interact positively with guests and address any special dietary needs.
Experience & Skills Required:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role and work environment.
Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and trends.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and team-oriented approach.
