Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Field Guide to join a prestigious 4* Safari Lodge located in the beautiful Waterberg region. Position Overview:
As a Field Guide, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional safari experiences to guests, providing them with unforgettable encounters with Africa’s magnificent wildlife. You will be responsible for leading game drives, nature walks, and other safari activities, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests throughout their stay.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting guided game drives and nature walks in the Waterberg wilderness.
Sharing in-depth knowledge of local flora and fauna, as well as the broader ecosystem.
Providing engaging and informative commentary to enhance the guest experience.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of guests at all times during safari activities.
Maintaining the lodge’s high standards of service and hospitality.
Taking responsibility for the care and maintenance of safari vehicles.
Assisting with other lodge duties and guest interactions as required.
Requirements:
DEAT registration and minimum FGASA Level 1 qualification are essential.
Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a 5* lodge environment with exposure to the Big 5.
Previous experience as a back-up or lead trails guide will be highly regarded.
Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit).
Professional, neat, and well-presented demeanour.
Sober habits and the ability to work long hours without complaint.
Excellent driving skills and a commitment to vehicle maintenance.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, with an approximate range of R6,500 – R8,000 per month. In addition to the competitive salary, the successful candidate will receive live-in accommodation (basic room with bathroom) and additional company benefits.
