Kendrick Recruitment is excited to bring you an opportunity to join a luxury 4-star property in Graskop as a Senior Sous Chef! This beautiful hotel features 35 rooms, expanding to 48 later this year, with two on-site restaurants, a function marquee, and a Conference Centre. If you’re a passionate chef with strong leadership skills, this is the role for you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Assisting the Executive Chef in managing all kitchen operations to ensure the highest standard and guest satisfaction
Increasing kitchen profitability, achieving budgeted GP, and staying within budget for kitchen expenses
Taking full responsibility for kitchen operations when the Executive Chef is not on duty
Maintaining health and safety standards and implementing them in the workplace
Handling menu planning, costing, and stock takes
Leading on-the-job training and creating a positive working environment for the team
Catering for a variety of dining styles including fine dining, à la carte, buffets, and large functions up to 500 guests
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Sous Chef in a hotel kitchen
Experience with Q-pro or similar audit systems, and health & safety compliance
Strong knowledge of POS systems, invoice capturing, and ordering
Skilled in menu planning, costing, and inventory management
Culinary qualification beneficial; Matric required
Excellent communication skills, with experience in staff discipline and training
Must have a driver’s license and reliable transport

Salary: R18,000
