Exciting Opportunity: Head of Reservations

Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Head of Reservations will be responsible for driving high-quality services within the Reservations team. This role entails leadership and performance management of the Reservations Team, implementing new systems and processes to improve business effectiveness, managing the reservations budget, fostering a culture of leadership and collaboration, and integrating systems between Reservations, Finance, and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure high service levels, attention to detail, and accuracy in all reservation processes.
Solve problems and communicate effectively with tour operators.
Collaborate closely with all team members in Reservations.
Implement new systems and processes to enhance business efficiency.
Manage the Reservations budget effectively.
Develop and support the skills of individuals within the team through coaching and other interventions.
Foster a culture of leadership, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Integrate systems between Reservations, Finance, and Operations.
Manage business reports generated from Tour Plan.
Develop reports to administer and grow business conversions.
Provide timely feedback to operators with quick turnarounds and attention to detail.
Qualifications and Experience:
Matric qualification.
Tertiary qualification in Travel and Tourism or relevant field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in leading and managing Reservations Teams.
Knowledge of Tourplan system.
Proven leadership and management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Location:
This role can be based in Johannesburg or Cape Town, as the company has offices in both cities.
Salary:
Highly negotiable based on candidates’ experience and salary requirements.
