Position Overview: The Head Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring that culinary creations reflect the sophistication and elegance expected by guests of a world-class establishment. Responsibilities include menu development, team management, and maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a talented team of chefs, promoting excellence and attention to detail
Develop and execute innovative menus that highlight fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients
Uphold stringent hygiene and food safety standards
Oversee inventory, supplier relations, and food cost management to achieve financial goals
Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative, high-energy environment
Stay updated on international culinary trends to continuously enhance the guest dining experience
Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience as a Head Chef in a luxury hotel or fine-dining restaurant
Formal culinary training and extensive knowledge of international cuisines
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Proven background in kitchen administration, budget management, and cost control
A passion for innovative, high-quality cuisine and guest satisfaction
Salary: R40,000+ per month, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
