π Location: Kitchen of a luxury lodge or large restaurant in Hermanus
π° Salary: R14,000 β R17,000
π©βπ³ Reports to: Executive Chef, Head Chef, and Sous Chef
β° Hours: Variable, based on restaurant/dining room operating times
What youβll bring to the table:
π΄ Full responsibility for managing a specific section of the kitchen
π΄ Freshly prepared mise-en-place, always on time
π΄ Dishes crafted to precise recipes, portions, and presentation standards
π΄ Strong mentoring skills to train and guide junior cooks and trainees
π΄ Proactive communication regarding shortages and kitchen needs
π΄ A tidy, disciplined, and efficient kitchen environment
Key duties include:
β Ensuring optimum stock conditions and availability
β Garnishing and presenting dishes to perfection
β Maintaining cleanliness and order in your section
β Deputising for the sous chef and leading the kitchen when needed
β Continuously improving skills through training and self-study
