🌟 Sous Chef – Luxury Wine Estate – Stellenbosch 🌟

Location: Stellenbosch, Western Cape
Salary: DOE (Dependent on Experience)

Kendrick Recruitment is on the hunt for a Sous Chef to join an exclusive luxury wine estate in Stellenbosch. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and skilled chef to showcase their culinary talent in an upscale, award-winning environment. What You’ll Do:

Support the Head Chef: Work closely with the Executive Chef and assist in the development of seasonal menus that reflect the finest local ingredients and estate-grown produce.
Supervise Kitchen Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring food preparation and presentation are in line with the estate’s high standards.
Lead by Example: Manage, motivate, and guide the kitchen team, ensuring smooth service, high morale, and a productive atmosphere.
Quality Control: Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
Inventory Management: Handle stock control, ordering, and inventory management to keep the kitchen running smoothly and efficiently.
Guest Interaction: Be part of the guest experience by ensuring meals are prepared to perfection and delivered on time.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a luxury, fine dining, or high-end hotel/restaurant.
Leadership skills with experience managing a kitchen brigade.
A passion for creating seasonal, locally sourced, and high-quality dishes.
Solid knowledge of food hygiene practices and kitchen safety.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
A team player who thrives under pressure and maintains calm during service.
Previous experience working with wine pairings is a plus.
