Sous Chef – Luxury Lodge – Northern KZN

Kendrick Recruitment are now seeking a Sous Chef for a luxury lodge based in Northern KZN. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our high standards of kitchen hygiene, training our talented team of chefs, and ensuring that all dishes meet the expected standards.

Key Outputs:

• Set and maintain kitchen hygiene standards
• Train and develop chefs to maintain kitchen standards
• Stay up to date with latest trends in food
• Produce creative bush banquets
• Maintain proactive maintenance in the kitchen
• Communicate effectively with team and stakeholders
• Control stock and rotation
• Responsible for food orders, storerooms, fridge, and deep freezers in absence of Executive Chef
• Check all food going out to guests at any time in absence of Executive Chef
• Check buffets, dinners, and breakfasts
• Check quality and quantity of snacks for game drives and adventures
• Interact with guests, invite feedback
• Promote good discipline and fair treatment
• Promote good teamwork
• Always be approachable
• Be aware of special dietary needs for guests

Previous Work Experience Required:

• At least 2+ years Chef experience
• Passion for kitchen management, general hygiene, and people management
• Passion for training staff, creating fabulous food, and new ideas
