👨🍳 Sous Chef – Luxury Hotel | Eastern Cape 👨🍳
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join the culinary team at a renowned luxury hotel in the Eastern Cape. This position offers an opportunity for a talented and passionate chef to support the kitchen’s high standards, contribute to menu innovation, and ensure exceptional dining experiences.
Position Overview: The Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff management. This role requires a proactive, hands-on chef with excellent culinary skills and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and execution of creative, seasonal menus
Supervise daily kitchen operations and ensure all dishes meet quality standards
Support inventory management and maintain food cost control
Train, mentor, and oversee kitchen staff to ensure seamless operations
Uphold strict health, safety, and sanitation standards
Take charge of the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence, ensuring consistent quality and service
Requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-end or luxury hotel environment
Strong culinary skills with expertise in fine dining and buffet styles
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a high-pressure environment
Knowledge of kitchen safety, hygiene standards, and cost control
Culinary qualification and valid driver’s license preferred
Salary: R15,000 – R17,000, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
This is a live-in position with accommodation and meals provided on duty.
