If you have a refined palate, an in-depth understanding of wines, and a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences, this role is your next adventure!
About the Role
As a Sommelier, you will play a key role in enhancing the dining experience for guests. Your expertise will guide guests in selecting the perfect wines to complement their meals, host engaging wine-tasting events, and ensure the meticulous management of the wine program.
Key Responsibilities
- Educate guests on the variety of wines available, offering pairing recommendations to enhance their dining experience.
- Ensure proper storage and presentation of all wines.
- Manage wine inventory to guarantee consistent supply and variety.
- Collaborate with the chef and Food & Beverage Manager to create harmonious food and wine pairings.
- Host wine-tasting events to engage and delight guests.
- Negotiate with wine producers and suppliers to secure premium selections at competitive prices.
- Develop and implement a training program to enhance wine knowledge and service within the team.
- Maintain the wine cellar, ensuring it is fully stocked and organized.
- Assist in the proper handling and storage of opened wine bottles.
Qualifications and Skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of a variety of wine types, vineyards, and wineries.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with guests and team members.
- Ability to manage inventory effectively and negotiate with suppliers.
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
