Senior Travel Designer
Location: Cape Town or Johannesburg
Salary: Negotiable, based on experience
The Senior Travel Designer plays a crucial role in driving sales, building strong relationships, and ensuring exceptional customer service in the highly competitive safari tourism industry. Your expertise will contribute to the growth and success of the business, crafting unforgettable travel experiences for clients.
Generate and grow sales by securing, costing, and presenting journeys to Sales agents in a timely manner.
Have detailed knowledge of strategic and preferred suppliers, including their deals, specials, and packages. Know how to negotiate and integrate these benefits to reduce rates without compromising the elevated guest experience.
Focus on sales and ensure you’re fully invested in the success of each booking.
Collaborate with the Reservations Manager to discuss sales potential and agent relationship developments.
Provide swift and efficient service to Sales agents, ensuring effective communication and meeting tight deadlines.
Offer continuous support and deliver excellent service to agents, always maintaining high standards.
Qualifications:
Matric certificate (minimum standard grade, with math).
Tertiary certificate in Travel & Tourism or Hospitality is advantageous.
Experience:
4-5 years of senior experience in handling customer relationships and developing and promoting products in the inbound travel industry.
In-depth knowledge of Southern and East Africa.
Working knowledge of TourPlan, WETU, or similar booking systems.
Personal or educational travel experience is a bonus.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Skills:
Dynamic, creative, and organized with excellent communication skills.
Thrives under pressure in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, without compromising accuracy.
Strong financial skills, self-starter, and maintains a high level of integrity and ethical conduct.
