As a Relief Travel Specialist, you will step in and take full responsibility for the desks of fellow consultants while they are on leave or educational trips. You’ll manage bookings, handle requotes, and help ensure seamless operations for both agents and guests. Step in for consultants during leave (sick or annual) or educational trips.
Oversee quoting processes and manage ongoing proposals.
Assist with brochure quotes and ensure smooth execution of agent and hosted educational bookings.
Play an active role in system and procedure implementation, testing systems to improve efficiency.
Chase provisional bookings and follow up on dead leads during quiet periods.
Assist with booking load during peak periods to keep everything running smoothly.
Creative planning and designing of customized itineraries for clients.
Maintain consistent communication with agents, sales teams, suppliers, and colleagues.
Be part of the rotational emergency duty and provide excellent service when needed.
Maintain a calm, professional manner while working with agents and guests.
Uphold the core values of Care for the people, land, and wildlife in every interaction.
A passion for delivering service excellence and going the extra mile for guests.
3-5 years of inbound tour consulting experience with a deep understanding of the travel industry.
Knowledge of Tourplan, Microsoft Office applications, and systems like WETU.
Good knowledge of South Africa, Southern and East Africa preferred.
The ability to think critically, problem-solve, and stay calm under pressure.
A self-motivated and independent approach with a “can do” attitude.
Strong teamwork mentality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
An organized, administration-driven approach to managing bookings and tasks.
