Operations Specialist – Staff Travel
Location: Johannesburg
Salary: Negotiable DOE
As the Operations Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of the booking process, working hand-in-hand with the Travel Designer while managing the backend of each booking. You’ll handle the administration, maintain supplier relationships, and ensure everything runs smoothly from start to finish. Accuracy, efficiency, and excellent communication will be your top priorities as you work to deliver exceptional travel experiences.
Secure bookings with all service providers and travel designers—accuracy and efficiency are key!
Communicate continuously with suppliers and internal teams to ensure a smooth process.
Liaise with Travel Designers on all bookings in an operational capacity, ensuring all details are accurately captured.
Compile electronic itineraries with all necessary travel details: times, flight details, and contact information for properties and guides.
Reconfirm all services in the booking to suppliers to ensure there are no errors.
Ensure the accuracy when compiling document packs for distribution.
Provide excellent support to suppliers, and internal teams ensuring trust and seamless communication.
Qualifications:
Matric certificate (with mathematics).
Tertiary certificate in Travel & Tourism or Hospitality.
Experience:
Entry-level experience (ideal for those starting out in the industry).
Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and internet.
Proven English literacy (written and verbal).
General knowledge of Southern and East Africa destinations is a plus!
Skills:
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Foreign language skills are advantageous (but not essential).
