Kendrick Recruitment is now hiring for a beautiful lodge situated in the gorgeous Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania!

Position: Operations Manager
Location: Ngorongoro Crater Lodge
Salary: USD 2500 NET (Live-in with expat benefits)
Employment Type: Permanent live-in position

Key Outputs and Responsibilities:

  • Support General Management: Assist in the effective management and running of Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, ensuring the lodge and brand are elevated to the next level of service standards.
  • Hospitality Management: Assist the Hospitality Manager with day-to-day operations and all back-of-house departments.
  • Guest Hosting: Conduct evening hosting and ensure continuous guest delight activities, including bush banqueting.
  • Service and Hospitality Training: Implement training plans to ensure &Beyond service standards are achieved, including butler training and other necessary service training.
  • Operational Stock Orders: Work with the Hospitality Manager on stock orders, planning, and timely orders.
  • Communication: Ensure seamless communication between front of house and back of house.
  • Room Checks: Oversee room checks and work with housekeeping to maintain and exceed standards.
  • F&B Standards: Maintain F&B standards, wine knowledge, and training, with support from the Hospitality Manager.
  • Daily Planning: Participate in daily meetings with Heads of Department to discuss plans, including arrivals, departures, and special requests.
  • Guest Experience Evolution: Constantly evolve the guest experience to remain cutting edge and meet guests’ expectations.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Management Experience: At least 3 years in a 5-star operation.
  • Hospitality and Service Training: Experience in hospitality and service training.
  • Qualifications: A hospitality degree is beneficial.
  • Key Skills: Energetic, proactive, world-class guest experience focus, leadership, problem-solving, excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, diligence, and self-motivation.
  • Technical Skills: Good computer skills and social media knowledge; IT experience beneficial.
  • F&B Experience: Food and beverage experience, wine experience/training/qualifications preferred.

Previous Work Experience Required:

  • Service Industry: Experience in dealing with guests and staff in the service industry.
  • Five-Star Operation: Previous experience in a five-star operation.
  • People Management: Beneficial but not mandatory.
