Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a Lodge Manager for a stunning Lodge based in Northern Botswana.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day to day operations of the Lodge. This includes all aspect that affects the guest experience
- Direct line management responsibility for the Management Team
- Human resource management and staff development of direct team members
- Build upon the existing guest experience to create new ideas and to ensure the product remains fresh and modern, whilst staying true to the history of the area – this includes guest delights, accommodation, food, staff, activities
- Building relationships with new and repeat guests
- Ensure lodge to-do lists are actioned and completed (within budget)
- Understand personal guest needs through interaction
- Ensure that minimum standards as per BOPs are adhered to in all departments
- Promote and instil an ethic of Guest Care and Guest interaction throughout all departments
- Promote and instil a passion for Going the Extra Mile throughout all departments
- Closely manage all guest delight activities together with other management, butlers, guides, housekeepers and other staff as necessary
- Assist with monthly planning – training, guest requirement and staffing levels
Requirements:
- At least 3 – 5 years Management Experience in a 5-star boutique operation
- Hospitality and Service Training Experience
- In-depth knowledge of classic and current food and beverage trends and market
- An energetic, proactive person with a well-developed concept of the importance of providing a world-class guest experience, and the ability to provide that experience
- Passionate about sustainable tourism and conservation
- Driven, energetic, compassionate and ambitious, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Unrelenting attention to detail and high standards
- Open-minded and able to think outside of the box
- The ability to motivate and inspire yourself and others
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication
- Fluent in English essential. Other European languages are beneficial
