Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced, motivated, and dynamic individual to join our client’s team as a Lodge Manager. This is a live-in, senior-level position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, managing financial reporting and budgets, and leading a dedicated team of hospitality staff. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing 5-star lodges, possess strong leadership skills, and thrive in a high-pressure environment. Couples may be considered where the Lodge Manager’s partner/spouse would be qualified for a Maintenance or Safari Guide position. The Lodge Manager will report directly to the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee all aspects of operations to ensure seamless and exceptional guest experiences. This includes managing guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, stock takes, and food and beverage operations.
  • Marketing and Revenue Optimization: Liaise with travel trade agencies/partners, the Managing Director, and the media department to deliver Sales & Marketing initiatives necessary to achieve occupancy and rate targets.
  • Financial Reporting and Budgets: Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and prepare financial reports to ensure the lodge operates with financial discipline and efficiency.
  • Staff Management: Lead and motivate a team of hospitality professionals, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and excellence.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Maintain high standards of service excellence and exceed guest expectations at all times. Address any guest concerns or complaints promptly and effectively to ensure guest satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies. Implement and maintain procedures to safeguard the well-being of guests and staff.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years’ previous experience managing a 5-star lodge or small luxury hotel/resort is essential.
  • Proven track record of success in overseeing lodge operations, financial management, and staff leadership.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with guests, staff, and management.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, including MS Office and property management systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
