Position: Head Chef
Location: Knysna, Western Cape
Salary: Experience-Driven, Approximately R32,000 per month
Responsibilities:
Leadership: Oversee and coordinate day-to-day kitchen operations, leading the team to achieve culinary excellence.
Quality Assurance: Assume accountability for guest satisfaction, ensuring high food quality, kitchen cleanliness, and equipment sanitation.
Team Development: Foster a positive and productive work environment through staff training, retention, and continuous development.
Key Performance Areas:
Brand Integrity: Uphold the company’s ethos and values, building lasting relationships with customers, suppliers, and staff.
Operational Excellence: Implement and adhere to policies, procedures, and training programs to achieve company objectives in quality, cleanliness, and facility appearance.
Menu Mastery: Cost menus, observe market trends, and tailor offerings to suit clientele and kitchen staff capabilities.
Staff Management: Supervise, develop, and train kitchen staff, ensuring efficient rostering and adherence to company policies.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen, oversee equipment maintenance, and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
Administration: Conduct stock takes, manage food costs, coordinate purchases, monitor wage costs, and maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Head Chef.
Culinary qualification or relevant training.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Commitment to quality and excellence.
Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
