Kendrick Recruitment is excited to present an exceptional opportunity for the role of Hotel Accountant at a 4-star property located near Howick. Reporting to the Financial Director (Johannesburg based), this position offers a unique experience in the heart of the Midlands.

Outline of Position:

Reporting to: Financial Director (JHB Based)
Salary: Up to R15,000.00 (single live-in position)
Accommodation: Single room with a single bed provided (unfurnished). Kitchen counter with basin, on-suite toilet, shower & basin. R600 a month for laundry, and electricity charge per usage.
Uniforms: Limited uniform provided; staff to provide own stockings, shoes, and belts as per requirements.
Working Week: Monday to Friday, 07h30 to 16h30 administrative hours. 15 days annual leave per annum worked.
Computer Literacy: Word, Excel, Microsoft Office email, Pastel, MICROS Point of Sale (advantageous).

Overview of Job: The Hotel Accountant will manage the Accounting Office with an Admin Assistant, ensuring the Hotel’s financial aspect is maintained and operational at all times. The Hotel Accountant creates financial transactions, posts information to accounting journals or software, and reconciles accounts. Principal accountabilities include paying supplier invoices, monitoring debt levels, assisting with VAT implications, ensuring prompt receivables collection, conducting bank reconciliations, issuing financial statements, maintaining budgets, and more.


Minimum 3 years of Hotel Accountant experience.
Hotel accounting experience preferred.
Ability to multitask and recon positively for the best interest of the company.
Proactive and not reactive.
Positive attitude.
Procedurally strict.
