Kendrick Recruitment is excited to announce an opening for a Head Guide at a prestigious luxury private game lodge in Hoedspruit. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate guide to lead and inspire a team while providing guests with unforgettable wildlife experiences.
Position Overview: As the Head Guide, you will oversee all guiding activities, ensuring that guests receive exceptional service and educational experiences in the African wilderness. You will lead game drives, bush walks, and other activities, sharing your extensive knowledge of the local ecosystem, flora, and fauna.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and conduct game drives and bush walks for lodge guests, ensuring memorable and informative experiences.
Manage and train a team of guides, ensuring adherence to the lodge’s standards and protocols.
Oversee all guiding operations, including vehicle maintenance, safety procedures, and compliance with regulations.
Develop and implement educational programs and experiences for guests.
Collaborate with lodge management to enhance guest experiences and satisfaction.
Maintain strong relationships with guests and address any concerns or requests promptly.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a guide in a luxury lodge or similar environment.
FGASA Level 2 (or equivalent) and First Aid certification.
In-depth knowledge of South African wildlife, ecology, and conservation practices.
Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to train and mentor junior guides.
Excellent communication skills and a passion for sharing knowledge with guests.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; a PDP is preferred.
