Kendrick Recruitment is on the lookout for a Head Guide to lead a team at a luxury lodge located in the Nambiti Big 5 Private Game Reserve. If you’re an experienced and confident guide with a passion for sharing the wonders of Africa’s wilderness, a knack for mentoring junior guides, and have strong leadership skills, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do:
Lead and Mentor: You’ll guide a team of passionate field guides, offering mentorship, leadership, and support as you ensure the team delivers exceptional safari experiences.
Host Guests: Your experience in guest relations will ensure you confidently host and engage guests, delivering the ultimate safari adventure.
Safari Experiences: You’ll conduct thrilling game drives, walking safaris, and provide rich insights into the African bush, wildlife, and conservation efforts.
Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of guided activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and guests’ needs are met.
Maintain High Standards: Lead by example, maintaining the lodge’s high standards of professionalism, knowledge, and safety.
Qualifications & Requirements:
FGASA Level 2 (NQF4) – Essential.
First Aid qualification.
PDP (Professional Drivers Permit) & valid driver’s license.
DEAT and NDT registration.
Lead Trails Guide certification.
Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH) certification.
Advanced 4×4 driving course qualification (Bonus).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Big 5 reserve.
Strong technical and practical skills.
Mature, confident, and stable with an analytical mindset.
Highly presentable, well-spoken, and professional.
Leadership & Mentorship: Ability to lead a team and nurture junior guides.
Exceptional guest relations skills with the confidence to host.
