As the Head Chef, you will be the driving force behind the lodge’s culinary excellence, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all kitchen activities. This includes planning, organising, and overseeing the preparation, cooking, and presentation of exquisite dishes that reflect both international flair and local flavours. You will play a pivotal role in upholding the lodge’s reputation for exceptional guest service, teamwork, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and curate innovative menus that exceed guest expectations, showcasing the finest local ingredients and culinary techniques.
Implement and maintain rigorous operational standards across all lodge kitchens, ensuring high levels of consistency, hygiene, and efficiency in food preparation and service.
Oversee and manage the kitchen’s financial performance, including budgetary control, cost management, and procurement, to ensure profitability without compromising on quality.
Work closely with the lodge management team to ensure that the culinary offerings enhance the overall guest experience.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of Grade 12 with a formal Chef qualification from a recognised institution.
At least 3 years of experience in a managerial position within a 5-star environment, demonstrating a strong track record of culinary excellence and leadership.
A genuine passion for the culinary arts, with a deep understanding of local and international cuisine, and a commitment to creating unforgettable dining experiences.
An eye for detail in every aspect of kitchen operations, from ingredient selection to presentation, ensuring the highest standards are consistently met.
