As a Field Guide Trainer, you will combine classroom-based lectures with hands-on, field-based training to guide learners (local and international) through their journey to becoming professional, NQF4-qualified field guides. From game drives to walks, you’ll inspire and mentor students to reach their full potential while deepening your own expertise in the process.
Training learners in both theoretical and practical aspects of field guiding, including game drives, walks, and other outdoor activities.
Ensure that all health and safety protocols are adhered to in the field and on campus.
Organize student outings and manage logistics.
Maintain training standards and continually evaluate the progress of students.
Contribute to social media marketing and campus management.
Support online course development and provide mentoring to students.
Administrative duties as required, including supporting students with their studies and projects.
Minimum 5 years guiding experience, ideally in a luxury lodge environment.
South African resident with relevant qualifications:
CATHSSETA NQF4 Field Guide Certification.
VPDA, SASSETA Rifle Proficiency (PFTC).
Valid Driverβs License and PrDP.
Valid First Aid, DEAT Registered, and SAPS Competency.
Extensive 4×4 driving experience.
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Reliable, proactive, and highly motivated with exceptional organizational skills.
Previous training or teaching experience is a plus.
Competitive salary of R20,000 β R35,000 per month (DOE).
Leave cycle options: 4 weeks on, 1 week off or 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off.
