Kendrick Recruitment are now seeking a Head Chef at a Luxury 5-Star Lodge in a Big 5 Game Reserve based in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape, South Africa
We are looking for a talented and experienced Head Chef to join a luxury 5-star lodge on the outskirts of Grahamstown. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for creating and delivering exceptional culinary experiences for guests. You will be responsible for leading a team of chefs, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standard and that guests have an unforgettable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and create menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring that all dishes are of the highest quality and meet guests’ expectations
Work closely with the lodge manager to ensure that all dietary requirements are met and that all meals are served on time
Manage and lead a team of chefs, ensuring that all staff are trained and that all kitchen operations run smoothly
Monitor stock levels and place orders for food and supplies as necessary
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and cleaned to a high standard
Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment at all times
Manage the kitchen budget and ensure that all costs are kept within budget
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
Proven track record of creating exceptional culinary experiences in a high-end establishment
Excellent knowledge of South African and international cuisine
Experience in managing a team of chefs and kitchen staff
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
A passion for food and a commitment to delivering exceptional culinary experiences to guests
Knowledge of dietary requirements and restrictions
A qualification in culinary arts or a related field is highly desirable
This role is offering a competitive salary between R18,000 – R22,000 monthly with accommodation, meals, uniforms and additional company benefits provided.
