General Manager – Museum – Cornwall, UK

Kendrick Recruitment is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a General Manager at a Museum, located in Cornwall (UK). This role presents a unique chance to oversee various aspects of the museum, including the visitor attraction shop, museum experience, kitchen garden, and restaurant.

Location: Cornwall, UK
Salary: GBP6,000 per month

Requirements:

• A qualification in hospitality management or business management.
• Relevant experience in hotel management, restaurant management, or visitor attraction management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
• Experience in financial management.
• A passionate disposition with the ability to maintain high standards under pressure.
• Fluency in both English and Afrikaans.
• An interest in South African history will be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Building and leading a team to facilitate visitor attractions across various departments, including exhibitions, restaurant, and maintenance.
• Creating and delivering a unique and memorable guest experience.
• Ensuring the upkeep of all museum installations, some of which may be technically complex.
• Overseeing the management of the restaurant team and ensuring exceptional service.
• Managing site maintenance, including gardens and grounds.
• Defining long-term goals, developing business models, and implementing strategic plans.
• Identifying and leveraging employee strengths to position teams effectively.
• Managing suppliers and fostering strong community relations.
• Overseeing the museum’s operations and budget.
• Handling marketing, public relations, and community engagement initiatives.
