Kendrick Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Hotel General Manager to lead a boutique hotel located in the vibrant city of Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in hotel management, with a strong knowledge in maintenance. This is an urgent position that requires a dedicated professional capable of delivering exceptional guest experiences while ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the hotel.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance departments
Ensure the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction are consistently met and exceeded
Develop and implement strategic plans to maximize revenue and profitability
Lead and inspire a diverse team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and cooperation among staff members
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, contractors, and local authorities
Manage and control operating expenses, budgets, and financial performance
Monitor and analyze industry trends and competitors to identify opportunities for improvement
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
Oversee and coordinate maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance and repairs
Implement effective strategies to optimize energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
Regularly inspect the hotel premises to identify areas for improvement and ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met
Address and resolve guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner
Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in hotel management, including a strong focus on maintenance
Proven track record of successfully managing a boutique hotel or similar establishment
Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial management
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
In-depth knowledge of the hospitality industry and current market trends
Outstanding communication and customer service skills
Proficiency in hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of local regulations and compliance requirements
Relevant certifications or degrees in hotel management or a related field are desirable
Salary and Benefits:

R50,000 – R60,000
