Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a Lodge Manager for a stunning Lodge based in Northern Botswana.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for day to day operations of the Lodge. This includes all aspect that affects the guest experience
Direct line management responsibility for the Management Team
Human resource management and staff development of direct team members
Build upon the existing guest experience to create new ideas and to ensure the product remains fresh and modern, whilst staying true to the history of the area – this includes guest delights, accommodation, food, staff, activities
Building relationships with new and repeat guests
Ensure lodge to-do lists are actioned and completed (within budget)
Understand personal guest needs through interaction
Ensure that minimum standards as per BOPs are adhered to in all departments
Promote and instil an ethic of Guest Care and Guest interaction throughout all departments
Promote and instil a passion for Going the Extra Mile throughout all departments
Closely manage all guest delight activities together with other management, butlers, guides, housekeepers and other staff as necessary
Assist with monthly planning – training, guest requirement and staffing levels
Requirements:
At least 3 – 5 years Management Experience in a 5-star boutique operation
Hospitality and Service Training Experience
In-depth knowledge of classic and current food and beverage trends and market
An energetic, proactive person with a well-developed concept of the importance of providing a world-class guest experience, and the ability to provide that experience
Passionate about sustainable tourism and conservation
Driven, energetic, compassionate and ambitious, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
Unrelenting attention to detail and high standards
Open-minded and able to think outside of the box
The ability to motivate and inspire yourself and others
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication
Fluent in English essential. Other European languages are beneficial
