Bar Manager – Luxury Boutique Bar, 5 Hotel, Cape Town
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and charismatic Bar Manager for a luxurious boutique bar within a prestigious 5-star hotel in Cape Town. We are looking for a guest-oriented leader with a keen eye for detail and a sense of urgency to oversee daily bar operations and minibar services.
Minimum Experience & Qualifications:
Diploma in Hotel or Food & Beverage Management (advantageous)
At least 3 years’ food and beverage service experience in a 4/5-star hotel bar or upscale cocktail bar, including 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Experience with Point of Sale systems (Micros experience advantageous)
Experience with Stock Management systems (FnBShop experience advantageous)
Impeccable presentation and excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Strong familiarity with hospitality and food & beverage terminology
Understanding of restaurant financials and experience in Service Recovery
Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the bar and mini bar, ensuring service standards are met
Manage mise-en-place and maintain operational equipment to reduce breakages and ensure stock levels
Ensure corrective action when standards are not met by staff
Track beverage stock movement and update accurately in FnBShop
Perform and oversee end-of-service cash-ups and float management
Conduct guest satisfaction checks and resolve any issues, ensuring high service quality
Manage staff rosters to meet business needs and maintain service standards while controlling labour costs
