Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, 5 Hotel & Spa, Camps Bay, Cape Town*

THE JOB:

Assist the F&B Manager in leading and organizing the Food and Beverage Service Team.
Set and maintain high standards.
Manage budgets and gross profit margins.
Report to the F&B Manager.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Diploma in Hotel or Food & Beverage Management.
At least 4 years of experience in a 4/5* hotel, with 2 years in a managerial role in a food and beverage outlet.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Experience with a Point of Sales System (Micros experience is advantageous).
Experience with a Stock Management System (FnBShop experience is advantageous).
Familiarity with Opera is advantageous.
Highly presentable.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Fluent in hospitality terminology, particularly food and beverage vocabulary.
Understanding of restaurant financials.
Experience with stock control, stock counts, and resolving stock discrepancies.
Proficiency in service recovery.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

THE JOB IN DETAIL:

Support management in daily operations and guest interactions during peak meal times.
Plan and execute food and beverage special events and contribute promotional ideas to drive revenue and PR.
Finalize rosters to ensure adequate staffing levels while controlling costs.
Manage operating costs in line with budgetary requirements.
Coordinate training within the department.
