Kendrick Recruitment is looking for an Assistant Lodge Manager / Maintenance Manager to join an incredible luxury lodge in Hoedspruit. If you’re passionate about the bush, thrive in a leadership role, and have solid experience in solar, plumbing, and generator maintenance, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
This is no ordinary job—it’s a chance to take charge in the absence of the Lodge Manager and ensure everything runs smoothly, all while working in one of South Africa’s most beautiful and remote locations. What You’ll Do:
Step into leadership: Manage the lodge when the Lodge Manager is away
Ensure smooth operations: Take charge of maintenance, ensuring everything from plumbing to solar systems and generators runs without a hitch
Lead the team: Supervise staff, ensuring top-notch service and smooth day-to-day operations
Problem-solve on the fly: Handle any maintenance issues that arise and keep the lodge running seamlessly
Be the go-to: Ensure that guest experiences are top-tier, with everything from facilities to team coordination in tip-top shape
Maintain systems: Be hands-on with solar systems, plumbing, and generator maintenance to keep everything in working order
What You’ll Need:
Proven experience in a similar lodge management or maintenance role
Must have solid knowledge of solar systems, plumbing, and generators (if you’re a whiz at fixing things, you’ll be in your element!)
Ability to manage and motivate a team in the absence of the Lodge Manager
Strong leadership and organizational skills
A proactive, hands-on approach to both maintenance and guest service
A passion for the outdoors and working in a remote, beautiful setting
Ability to work independently and handle any maintenance issues with confidence and expertise
Must be a self-starter with great attention to detail
