Financial Accountant – Luxury Hospitality Company – Bryanston
Salary: R25,000 – R30,000 (CTC)

A prestigious luxury hospitality company is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join their Bryanston office and manage the financial operations for their Imbali Safari Lodge portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with the Group Finance Manager and will be responsible for preparing management accounts, month-end journals, overseeing F&B stocks and COS, and ensuring the financial integrity of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare month-end journals and assist in month-end accounting processes.
Compile management accounts for presentation to the Financial Manager.
Handle financial reporting, including variance reporting on budget overspends.
Oversee year-end audits for the properties and ensure financial controls are adhered to.
Assist with budgeting, financial programming, and developing strategies for profitability.
Work closely with the Finance Manager, Operations Managers, and General Managers to analyse monthly financial results and report discrepancies or anomalies.
Prepare weekly financial reports and present findings to the Finance Manager.
Ensure that all financial manuals and checklists are followed, and develop new policies and procedures as needed.
Maintain financial records, including personnel files, contracts, leave schedules, medical aid, and provident fund.
Ensure all statutory compliance requirements are met and perform audits on employee documentation.
Mentor and manage the financial accounting team, and oversee training and development within the accounting department.
Qualifications & Requirements:
2-4 years’ experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role within the luxury hospitality industry.
Matric is a minimum requirement; a further qualification in finance/accounting is an advantage.
Strong working knowledge of Pastel, VIP Payroll, and ACCPAC.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (Advanced skills).
Knowledge of Hospitality PMS systems (OPERA, APEX, or NEBULA) is advantageous.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a finance team.
Must be able to work unsupervised with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Valid RSA ID is required.
Must have reliable transport (Driver’s Licence required).
Ability to travel to properties when necessary (travel expenses covered).
