Education

TOURISM MANAGEMENT (2000-2003)
CPUT

After finishing my Matric in 1999 I enrolled at Cape Peninsula University of Technology for National Diploma in Tourism Management. This is where I learnt how to do airline and hotel reservations on the Galileo System. I learnt about different role players in the tourism industry and how they connect to each other from deciding on a trip whether business or pleasure to booking that plane ticket, hotel accommodation and places to visit to things to do at a destination.

Work Experience

South African Airways 2004-20115)
Customer Service Agent

After obtaining my Diploma in Tourism Management I joined South African Airways as a Baggage Assistant which at the time was an entry level in the airline. Within the same year I applied for a position of Customer Service Agent which was more relevant to what I studied at varsity. I was a Customer Service Agent throughout my career with SAA and developed a passion for customer service. I was responsible for Meeting Flights, Check-in and Boarding of flights. I also worked at different departments amongst those was Lost Property also known as Baggage Services this is where we track and trace lost luggage or passengers items that were left on board. I also worked at Aircraft Control Centre this department was responsible for when there were delays of flights. I also worked at Departure Control in this department we were responsible for the weight and balance of aircrafts. Throughout the years I would act as a Team Leader in the absence of a Team Leader this is when I was in charge of a team of employees who were my colleagues but I had a more senior responsibility than them.
