Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a Sous Chef for a luxury lodge situated in the Waterberg, Limpopo. The Sous Chef is responsible for planning and directing food preparation in the kitchen and assisting the Head Chef. This role will involve supervising kitchen staff, as well as keeping an eye out for issues that might arise in the kitchen and taking control of the situation. We are needing a chef who understands dietary requirements and is able to adapt the menu when required to meet these needs. This person must also be able to work under pressure and produce top quality dishes. Excellent command of the English language both written and spoken is a must.
Be fully responsible for the smooth operation of all administrative duties in the kitchen department whilst the Executive chef is away;
Ordering of stock, menus, emails, invoicing as well as staff management;
Preparation and portioning food, monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation;
Check the cleanliness and operation of all kitchen equipment as well as all areas before service;
Review work procedures and operational problems.
